The most popular feature would be the email interface residing on the tablet, instead of relying on the Bridge to the handheld Blackberry. This solves one of it’ main criticisms to date.
With the updated user interface, frequently used apps now have their own toolbar. You will be able to create file folders with unlimited amount of apps per folder.
User accounts are integrated, along with calendar and contacts. You can then compose multiple messages from various accounts, in rich text, all from within the same message list. This seems comparable to Windows tile version, merging history and live feed for each contact.
They’ve upgraded gaming capability, adding the oh-so-popular “Angry Birds”. The anticipated Android apps will not simply be running an Android emulator, but will be re-written for Blackberry.
The Blackberry Bridge between the tablet and handset will be enhanced, but allowing remote “open-on” options. You will be able to open a handheld file on the tablet, edit and save changes to the file on the handheld.
Expected release date for Version 2.0 is February, upgradable from the Playbook itself.
